More people are getting cancer: according so some estimates, one in two of us in the UK will be touched directly or indirectly by the disease by 2025. Terrifying though this is, being diagnosed with cancer is no longer the death sentence it used to be. Advances in medical science mean that many more people are living with cancer for many years.
Living with cancer is better than the alternative, for sure, but it brings its own problems, particularly emotional stresses.
Author and consultant David Waller has been living with cancer for years. He sets out to explore the experience of cancer with a view to helping patients, their families and carers and medical professionals understand each other better. It will feature a mixture of opinion, interviews and analysis. Contributions and stories are welcome; please use the contact section to get in touch.
